Economic Impact of Another Planet Entertainment’s Golden Gate Park Concert Series

Summary Findings

In August 2025, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park hosted three major concert events produced by Another Planet Entertainment (APE): Dead & Company from August 1-3, Outside Lands (OSL) from August 8-10, and Zach Bryan on August 15. Together, these events drew hundreds of thousands of attendees to San Francisco, including many visitors from outside the Bay Area, generating significant spending at hotels, restaurants, retailers, transportation providers, and other local businesses.

This report measures the economic impact of the three events through two sources of activity:

1. The spending of attendees on lodging, food and drink, transportation, retail, and other items in San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area; and

2. The direct event-related spending by APE on local vendors, lodging for artists, crew, and staff, advertising, and payroll.

Both streams were modeled using IMPLAN, the industry-standard input-output tool, to capture direct, indirect, and induced effects.1 Across the nine-county Bay Area, the three events combined generated an estimated $245.1 million in total economic output, $110.4 million in income and wages, approximately 1,272 full time-equivalent jobs, and $32.5 million in tax revenue. Visitor spending accounted for the large majority of this impact; APE’s direct eventrelated spending added a further $34.9 million in economic output and approximately 183 fulltime-equivalent (FTE) jobs.
